somewhere i belong
a short trip to a place which held my recent 4 years worth of memories felt so different, for the first time in a long while.
for once, the word "curfew" didn't come close to landing itself in my vocabulary. totally no worries about having to be back by this-and-that time, minus the consideration for my senior who kindly let me bum overnight for 2 nights at his place. it's a whole dimension to remain in singapore without a fixed place to stay... i could go anywhere do anything...whatever! living as a squatter in NUS Sheares Hall Block A is truly an enjoyable one. crashing lectures with cheryl was quite cool too. and together we crashed a KE7 room..hehe. so funny.. i can qualify as a nus tour guide already.
i'm really happy to have specially made a trip to singapore this time. it's like a journey of self discovery, of knowing who i'm really comfortable with, who are those i treasure most in singapore. i miss the council guys... only met tak at campfire. my whacky sam, rich, tiong n cliff a.k.a. my twin are all in tekong. so sad. don't know when i'll be able to meet them again. i'm quite surprised to see that the student lounge in hc now has a cafe, i wonder how successful it'll be. now there's a grand total of 5 eating locations within the entire hwachong campus - 2 canteens, 1 cafe, 1 poolside restaurant & 1 SIM cafe. amazing right? going back to hwachong really gives me the nostalgic feeling of returning to your alma mater. but even then, sadly it's not as great the feeling as returning to LWMC! i love YG2!!! my pillar of support for the past 3 years ( 1st year in singapore i didn't go to church ^-^)
i met a lot of people this trip. was lucky to meet mr. tim lim n mr. patrick soo... two of my fav teachers in ac. both taking level 4 in ACSI this year. also met desiree, elaine, yg2, hianliang, jeff, stephanie, mike, christine.kng, aunty liza, pastor kenneth, auntie julie, joshua n oliver.... feel so at home at lwmc... so hard to find such friends nowadays, especially when the line between a friend and an acquaintance is so clearly drawn.
really happy to be able to meet hc this trip although only for a short while. soooooo hard to catch her for longer hours, even her friend mindy agrees with me! haha.. made new friends again. happy to be able to just say a simple hello, but i hate goodbyes. never know what happens next, really. i prefer farewell greetings like ,"see you soon!" or " till we meet again!". anyway, looking forward to my next verbal warfare with ching. haha. please remember to smile!
youth discipleship retreat was a blast. dr harkness was superb, the company was great too. stayed up really late for chat and games session. 10thD n 11thD captain - tag-team bridge OwNAge!!! 8 people turned up for YG on sunday, only paul(who was sick) and lynn and jean(who were overseas) wasn't around. went for lunch at holland village.. katong laksa..so syiok! and you only eat with one spoon. haha. dessert time saw ivan, jason and myself rising up to " swensen's challenge" (NOT). they gave us regular earthquake instead of the giant one.
a memorable short trip to singapore, i even met xueting(my 1st 3mnth classmate) just before i left for home. cool finale, huh?
